Though smartphones take amazing photos these days, they still don’t quite understand the best light or simple, natural poses to create a true piece of art. A family photo session pauses the inevitable marching of time, so when your toddler becomes a teenager you won’t be wanting for the most perfect photos as they travelled through time right in front of you.

Portrait family sessions are for parents who want to quickly meet at a beautiful location and get new portraits of their family for their mantle, a new milestone, or Christmas cards. You’ll receive:

STEP 01

Contact me (click here!) and we will get the ball rolling. Be sure to include your preferred date, locations, and any other details you think might be useful.
STEP 02
Relaxed planning
After we've signed a short contract and you've sent a small retainer to reserve your session, we'll put our heads together to plan out and ensure the session reflects your true personalities and desires.
STEP 03
📸
Session time! We meet up and have a blast creating chill scenes where you and your family feel comfortable and your love effortlessly shines through.
STEP 04
Gallery delivery
A day or two after the shoot, I'll most likely be excited and impatient and edit a few photos to send as a sneak peek. Then, within 2 weeks you'll receive the full gallery of high quality, edited photos.

FAQ
When will we receive the final gallery?
Your carefully edited gallery will be delivered by email within two weeks of your session date.
What location should we choose for the session?
I love to lend my expertise when choosing a location for a session and generally think a natural setting creates a beautiful scene for family portraits and candids. For Lifestyle sessions, I always suggest we start at your home, where your kids are comfortable, then venture out to a second location. This allows us to capture your real family, at this specific moment in time.
What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the session day?
This is definitely in the forefront of my mind as well, so I always select a backup date for each family session, so we can be sure to have the best light and weather.
Are downloads or prints included?
The session fee of your chosen package includes the downloads and a print release if needed. That said, every gallery has a print store of hundreds of amazing, high quality products fulfilled through White House Custom Color, a Minnesota based company that only works with professional photographers.
What should we wear?
Great question! I would start with choosing outfits that reflect your family and personalities. Overall, my general rule is mixing over matching. Choosing a color scheme/theme and then mixing the outfits based on that, so they are cohesive, but not 100% matching.
