The 1774 Inn - Phippsburg, ME
Captured by Miles North Creative . Co - Destination Wedding Photographer
As America celebrated its' 249th birthday Lorena, Marzia, and 30 of their closest friends and family gathered at a 251 year old inn near Bath, Maine for an intimate destination wedding weekend. The 1774 Inn in Phippsburg was a perfect venue for the festivities. The views over the Kennebec River were gorgeous and the weather couldn't have been better.
I first met Lorena in 2014 when we were both eager young art students studying abroad in Florence, Italy. We bonded over a love of great music and luckily stayed in touch through the years. I was overjoyed when she contacted me after her engagement and told me about her plans for a cozy wedding in Maine. Being an incredible artist herself, I knew the wedding would have beautiful details and a certain elegance. Honey bees were one of the main features, so see if you can pick up each reference as you look through the blog!
Lorena and Marzia and their brilliant planning team brought together their Italian heritage, the historic setting, and their favorite people to create an unforgettable experience. It was a joy to get to know everyone and photograph such a meaningful day. I hope you enjoy the visual journey through their day and most importantly, thank you Lorena and Marzia!!
Much love,
Dylan

One feature of their day that I loved was that they got ready together, in the same space! By choosing to forego the traditional separate mornings then a first look or seeing each other at the ceremony, they were able to enjoy their whole wedding day, side by side. The memorable moments that followed this decision are some of my favorites. I highly recommend all engaged couples think about every part of their day and every so called 'tradition' and to ask themselves, "Does this fit us?" Taking this approach will lead to a wedding day that is truly yours.

"As an artist myself, visual imagery is so important to me. Dylan blew us away with his work. We hired him for our intimate destination wedding of 30 people in Maine and could not be happier with the results! Dylan has a gift for capturing moments exactly as they are, then elevating them into timeless art. Every image feels alive, tender, iconic, candid, and filled with warmth. His black-and-whites are especially stunning, as is his eye for detail, which makes each shot feel intentional.
Beyond his artistry, Dylan himself is a kind, genuine person who cares deeply about the people he photographs and carries himself with great professionalism. From the very beginning, Dylan communicated with ease and promptness between us and our coordinator. He scouted the venue ahead of time and arrived hours early to prepare on the wedding day. When it came time to shoot, he seemed to be everywhere all at once without being noticed, (and with 3 cameras!) He even sprinted across a field through some trees to capture us dancing on the dock at sunset before heading back within minutes to capture close-ups.
We appreciate that Dylan listened closely to our wishes for specific shots as well, making sure to capture my grandmother, our handmade decor details, meaningful dishes, and a wide mix of portraits. His gentle, natural guidance required very little “posing” of us and made us feel completely comfortable, resulting in authentic photos. Now, whenever we look through our gallery, we are reminded of how grateful we are to have chosen Dylan to capture our wedding. Miles North Creative Co. is worth every penny. We cannot wait to work with him again as our family grows. ☺️"
