On a warm summer's day near Traverse City, Michigan at the gorgeous Aurora Cellars vineyard, a beautiful group of souls came together under the enormous willow tree to celebrate the wedding of Maggie and Alex.


In their initial emails they mentioned connecting with the way my photos capture organic moments and I learned what they'd been through in the 10 years they'd been together.


We bonded quite instantly over the universal truth that every single moment we have with our favorite people here on earth is immensely precious.


They said they couldn't imagine not celebrating the big day with their friends and family and from then I had the feeling this would be a remarkable experience to be a part of and photograph.


On the wedding day, everyone welcomed me with warmth and trust as I introduced myself and gave my usual spiel of 'oh don't mind me, you all just enjoy your day and if I need anything for a photo, I'll let you know.' The joy and excitement was infectious through the getting ready scenes and as the ceremony approached. When the weather radar showed that Mother Nature might not have sun planned for the ceremony, not a smile broke. Everyone rolled with it as the day was adjusted and settled on the porch to watch the storm roll through.


With that relaxed and trusting outlook, the magic of the day unfolded. At least I'll call it magic. Whatever was in the air that day, I found innumerable scenes achingly beautiful and hope the photos shared here convey that.

Hey! I'm Dylan, a Michigan native and I've been bringing my unique eye and expertise to weddings all over the world since 2013.
